Today, was a super busy day!

After I did some paperwork for work this morning, I got on the road in order to d some actual work. The first stop should not have taken more than 15 min – it took an hour! And the rest of the day, pretty much followed suit, both for me and Charlie.

In the afternoon, our contractor came over; we had asked him to replace the floor in our guest bathroom. The previous owners had laid some sort of tile in there, that is clearly meant to be outside. It was dark, really thick, very jagged and almost impossible to get clean. The contractor, knowing that we like frugal solutions, suggested that instead of replacing it, we lay a thin sheet of wood on top of it, and the new flooring on top of that.

We selected a vinyl material that looks like wood and comes in 3 ft planks. Normally, this would have been a project that we would have done ourselves, but with everything else that we had on our plate, and the great price we got it was worth having the contractor complete this. The bathroom is approx. 30 sq. feet (excluding tub & vanity) and the total cost was under $300 (labor & materials); it transformed the room completely!
