I have not given an update on the pantry makeover in a few days. There is a good reason for that. At the same time that we were tackling the pantry/toe kick project, we had asked our contractor to replace the counter tops in our rental house. I had bought the counter tops at IKEA a little while back, and the contractor was to just take the old ones out and put these new ones in. Fairly easy and simple, right? Wrong !
We ran into one issue after the other, most of which required Charlie’s knowledge, ingenuity and dogged determination to fix. In addition, a visit from the plumber was required, so a “simple” three hour, inexpensive project, turned into a 4 day ordeal (during which the tenant did not have a kitchen sink!).
I had resigned myself to the pantry not getting completed before Charlie went on his fishing trip and I was not going to push for that, since this is probably going to be the last fishing trip for the season. I wanted him to be well rested and be able to enjoy his time on the water.
Imagine my surprise when I got home yesterday evening, and both the pantry was completed and the toe kick was painted!
I loaded the pantry up this morning, and here it is:
And the toe kick too:
