My first instinct was to paper piece this block, but when I looked at it closer I changed my mind. I pieced the center by using 1″ squares, trimming to size and then adding the side pieces. The rest is “just” flying geese.
The directional fabric of course required fussy cutting, in order to make all the stripes “run” in the same direction. In the center, I fussy cut the fabric, but let the stripes run in opposite directions (looking at the finished block, I am not sure that is visible).
